The Venue
It could be your house or apartment, or it could be the Staples Center. The key is that it should be comfortable to be in, and to experience, for you and your guests. The things to remember are: how large is your budget, how many population will you be expecting, will many kids be running nearby tripping into things, other than your personal guests how many others in the hired crew do you expect, will you have enough space for everyone to move nearby freely and comfortably, enough space for any wheelchairs to maneuver, enough bathrooms etc? The venue should have the facilities to adapt all your guests.

There are thousands of venues for rental in a large city like, say, L.A. Think of the kind of location you would like: indoors? outdoors? half and half? beach? church and banquet room? romantic setting? child friendly? The possibilities here are endless. With budgets to match. Think of what would best suit the kind of event you are planning: romantic? stylish? scenic? playful? simple? spectacular?

Food And Drink
If it's a short event of two hours or less, you could get away with drinks and snacks. Something longer would want a full meal of some sort. It could be a buffet or a waiter-served sit-down meal. Could be a served buffet with servers or a serve-yourself type. There should be a bar and bartender, at least one, to serve drinks.

Music
The contribute of music could be a straightforward setup, but there should always be music. Music will remind your guests that they are having fun at every minute of the event. Music will generate the climate that you want at all times. A good Dj will set the primary mood for the festivities at every turn. He or she will also have a couple of microphones which you more than likely will need for speeches and dedications while the event. Have at least one good sized good capability speaker that you can plug into whether system, but with two speakers you will have a backup if one fails. Think in terms of the volume level that you will need to fill the space for dancing.

If you can afford it, and your tastes lean in that direction, you could have a small music group, singular private or duo, trio etc, for the earlier part of an event (wedding ceremony, cocktail hour or such), and then a Dj or a larger galvanic band for the dancing segment. Live music is always a very classy way to go at any occasion.

Photography And Video
There are two schools of thought on this subject. One thinks photography is more prominent to have than video. Photography, they say, will capture unmistakably how all things looked. You can print the photos to any size, take the pictures with you and show them in any place you go, make albums from them to treasure all your life, send pictures unmistakably to others The other camp thinks it is video that is more important. After all, video captures movement, sound, dialogue, and all the live emotions that went along on that day, exactly how they looked and sounded when they happened. And video is the perfect way of showing those who could not attend how it all went down on that special day.

Both are right. Both of these records of the event have their advantages. But don't pick one over the other. If the chance is a once-in-a-lifetime event, or close to it, don't skimp on whether one. Later you will find both of them deliciously remarkable to look at and watch. And you will have one coverage as a backup for the other should anything terminal happen to either. At the very least, have all your guests take pictures and video throughout the event that you can obtain from them later. However, always the best idea is to hire a professional photographer and videographer to do the job. You don't know what you are going to get from your guests, but you will know what you will get from your photographer and videographer after viewing his/her portfolio. And again, by getting both you will have that backup should anything go wrong with either. Both the photos and the video will be a joy to caress years down the road.

Flowers?
Flowers are not an absolute necessity to make for a victorious event. unmistakably some events and some venues will not call for a flower layout. If you select an outdoor orchad for the affair, flowers may already be abundant. But if the event is a wedding or high profile chance of some sort, specially an indoor one, a well appointed flowery location will unmistakably lift up the spirits and the scent of it all! Of course, there are expensive flowers and not-so-expensive ones, expensive arrangements and not-so-expensive ones. Let your budget and your artistic sense dictate how to apportion for this.

If you want to be reassured that you will get good service, guaranteed by contract, do a minute homework and pay the higher price that good capability and reliability demands. A true professional will have a track narrative with verifiable references and portfolios that you can investigate. A true professional will have the high capability tool and supplies it takes to furnish an perfect product. A true professional will not only show up to your event with the promised tool and supplies, but will also have on hand back-up units in case of a failure. Now, isn't it worth the extra price to have that reassurance for your once-in-a-lifetime event?
